IHSA to debut shot clock in 2026, what does it mean?

The IHSA board of directors’ June meeting was a busy one, with numerous changes being brought forward including one that many have clamored for for years. 


Starting in the 2026-27 season, every varsity-level game in the state for boys and girls basketball will be played with a 35-second shot clock, ushering in a new era of how the game is played in one of the cradles of high school basketball in America.
