State Preview: Normal Community hoping to tower over Class 4A with first state championship in program history

Normal Community is ending its season in the city where many had expected them to: Champaign. Whether or not the first team to be ranked No. 1 in Class 4A this season will finish with that same number next to their names will be up to a cast that’s gotten it done with plenty of dunks and plenty of defense. 


The Ironmen carry a strong history with 14 consecutive seasons at or above. 500 but are still looking for their program’s first state title. They’ll have to battle for it against a talented trio of teams from the Chicago suburbs, but in case you haven’t seen Normal Community this year,  they have one thing that stands above everyone else (literally): their size.
