IN BOYS GOLF:
At East Peoria. The Dunlap duo of Nolan Eccles and Luke Johnson won the Raider Cup Challenge, a two-man team event at Quail Meadows, with a score of 71. The pair of Eagles beat out Pekin's Owen Gruden and Matthew Juergens and Normal West's Jack Wenzel and Parker McDermott by one stroke. The Wildcats won the event as a team with a score of 232, getting a boost from Alex Olsen and Rolen Schlipmann's 79 and the team of Andrew Bair and Ryan Hoss fired an 81. Washington placed two teams in the top 10 with Troy Reiser and Gavin Schreurs combining for a 76 and Carter Heffta and Dominic Yocum shooting a 79. Other top duos included East Peoria's Conner Watson and Nicholas Unes (74), Normal Community's Johnnie Blackburn and Drew Stevens (76) and Richwoods' Brock Brown and Gavin Spohn (76).
At Elmwood. Brimfield took home a win on rival territory on Wednesday, defeating Elmwood and Canton at the Elmwood Triangular, 176-187-194. The Indians were led by Drew Kieser's 39 and Nick Hainline's 41 at Maple Lane Country Club. Elmwood's Tanner Wake had seven pars, a birdie and a bogey to shoot 35 and earn medalist honors. Austin Wright fired a 38 to lead Canton.
At Eureka. The Hornets defeated IVC 156 to 209 in a dual match at Kaufman Park golf course. Luke Martin took home medalist honors with a 38. Mac Cooper and Joe Eastman weren’t far behind, as they both fired 39s. Adam Blunier’s 40 rounded out the counting scores for the Hornets. The Grey Ghosts were led by a 48 from Will Yount and a 52 from Aero Walenta.
At Peoria. Peoria Christian hosted LVC and Williamsfield for a triangular match at Newman Golf Course and came out victorious, shooting 182 to edge Williamsfield’s 183 and LVC’s 189. The Chargers’ Drew Gama was the medalist with a 39. Grant Scholl followed with a 44, Ian Durst shot 49 and Elijah Ramsey came in with a 50.
