The word “era” is often thrown around in sports. Time periods marked by legendary players, title runs, and revered coaches.
In high school sports, though, eras are almost always limited to a season. Two if you’re lucky. Students graduate. Personnel changes. Culture shifts. Year-to-year, rosters are always in flux.
However, for Washington’s football program, the “Darrell Crouch era” would be an apt title for the last 18 seasons. The Panthers head coach carries a streak of 15 consecutive playoff appearances into his 19th and final season.
