Clutch Sports Media is a high school sports media website dedicated to serving high school sports fans across Central Illinois. CSM was founded in August 2019 by two Bradley University broadcasting students, Joey Wright and Larry Larson. Our goal is to provide the best possible audio and video coverage of your favorite high school sports. We don't believe in cutting corners: we will always strive to provide the most comprehensive, accurate and highest quality broadcasts around.  We couldn't do what we do without tremendous support from our community. Larry Larson is a senior Sports Communication major and journalism minor at Bradley University. A native of Rockford, Illinois, Larry is a 2018 graduate of Belvidere High School, where he played varsity golf and baseball and anchored the schools' sports show on the weekly announcements. At Bradley, Larry is managing editor of the Bradley Scout and serves as the paper's lead men's basketball reporter. A member of BravesVision, Larry provides play-by-play, color commentary and sideline reporting for ESPN broadcasts of various Bradley sports. The last three summers, he has served as a broadcaster for the Northwoods League's Rockford Rivets, and was named the NWL Announcer of the year in 2020. In his free time, Larry enjoys traveling, playing golf and listening to Cubs baseball and Bears football. 




Joey Wright is a senior Sports Communication major at Bradley University. After moving to Urbana, Illinois in 2012, Joey became heavily involved with producing live coverage of Urbana High School sporting events for Urbana Public Television. Joey helmed the broadcasting club during his final three years at UHS, a period during which he also read the school’s morning announcements and hosted his own program on UPTV. While still in high school, Joey worked for The News-Gazette as a sports staffer. He also spent time at the three radio stations operated by News-Gazette Media: WDWS, WHMS and WKIO. At Bradley, Wright is heavily involved with Braves Vision and has worked in various on-air and production roles. An avid motorsports fan, he covered the action at Peoria Speedway while with the Peoria Journal Star in 2019. In 2021, he returned to the News-Gazette to cover a range of stories in both news and sports. When not working, Wright is adamant that nobody can beat him in Madden.




John Komosa is a Store Manager at Mattress By Appointment of Bloomington, and former Sports Reporter for Peoria Journal Star. John spent a decade with the newspaper company, where he covered high school basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, golf, soccer and college athletics. He was responsible for keeping season statistics, creating all-area teams, and helping run the Journal Star Sportswriters weekly podcast show. John is a 2010 graduate from Peoria Christian High School, where he played baseball. After PCS, he studied Journalism at Illinois Central College. Evan Johnson is a senior Sports Communication major and Advertising/Public Relations minor at Bradley University. Evan hails from Washburn, IL and graduated from Lowpoint-Washburn High School in 2018, where he was captain of the varsity basketball and Scholastic Bowl teams, among other things. Evan’s passion for sports intersects with a love of sneakers, which is why you’ll catch him posting what’s on his feet on any given day, retweeting the latest in footwear, or even working the register at the local Finish Line. Following graduation, Evan hopes to find a career in visual or social media marketing, or perhaps curating athletic talent for sportswear brands. Josh Schwam is a senior Sports Communication major at Bradley University with minors in Public Relations/Advertising and Journalism. Josh is a proud native of New York City, where he was the President of the Sports Broadcasting Club in high school as well as a two-year captain of the tennis team. Josh changed courses from broadcast to media relations and communications when he came to Bradley, taking up an internship in the Bradley Athletics Communications Department. Josh can be seen at any and all Bradley Athletic events taking pictures and running social media platforms to working behind the scenes. This past summer, Josh was a PR Intern for the Cape Cod Baseball League, where the best college baseball has to offer go to play a 40-game summer ball season. In his free time, Josh is an avid endurance sports aficionado, marathon runner and New York Yankee fan.




Jonathan Michel is a junior sports communication major and journalism minor at Bradley University. He was homeschooled throughout high school. Jonathan played varsity basketball for Quad Cities Christian School in Moline, Illinois before moving to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area where he played for the SWCHA Saints, a nationally ranked homeschool team. Jonathan keeps busy at Bradley by writing for the Bradley Scout, editing and producing highlight tapes for Braves Vision, and appearing as an anchor on BUTV News. Jonathan looks to return as a media intern with the Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association this summer.  When he’s not creating multimedia content, Jonathan enjoys golfing, long boarding, and trying new foods. Francisco Alonzo is a sophopmore Sports Communication major at Bradley University. He was born in Guatemala City and in 2017 decided to start his journey in the United States. Francisco is a 2020 graduate of Marquette Catholic High School located in Indiana, where he was captain of the soccer team. At Bradley, Francisco serves as a contributor for the sports section of the Bradley Scout. He is also involved with Braves Vision, helping as a production assistant with the ESPN broadcasts. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, and creating YouTube videos. He also likes to watch NBA games and identifies himself as a FC Barcelona fan. He hopes to find a career in the media industry covering soccer matches in Europe. Jacob Steinberg is a 2021 graduate of Bradley University with a degree in Sports Communication. Born and raised in Peru, Illinois, Jacob comes by way of LaSalle-Peru High School and Illinois Valley Community College. At Bradley, Jacob was a contributor with the Bradley Scout and served as the assistant video coordinator of Braves Vision where he filmed and produced social media content for the social media pages of Bradley Athletics squads. Jacob was also heavily involved through the production side of broadcasts in Braves Vision. In addition to his role at Clutch, Jacob works as a Multimedia Assistant with the Peoria Chiefs where he shoots games, writes blogs for the website, and is part of the Chief Talk Podcast. In his free time, he enjoys rooting for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, sim racing, and making creative content for the world to see. 




Cody Roskens is a junior Sports Communication major and Journalism minor at Bradley University. Hailing from Avoca, Iowa, Cody graduated AHSTW High School in 2019 after he participated in football, basketball, track and cross country at the varsity level. Cody was the play-by-play broadcaster for Harlan Municipal Utilities, covering Harlan Community High School and southwest Iowa high school athletics from 2014-2020. Upon arriving at Bradley, Cody got involved in Braves Vision and became the head manager for the Bradley Men’s Basketball team. Most recently, he interned for TBT (The Basketball Tournament) during the summer of 2021. In his free time, Cody can often be found keeping up with his favorite sports teams and watching new movies. Following graduation Cody hopes to work in the basketball or football field in some capacity as a broadcaster, coach, scout or video coordinator. 




Gavin Russell is a local high school student. He joined Clutch Sports in February 2021, and started helping with broadcasts in May. Additionally, Gavin also independently covered high school football and baseball in spring of 2021. Leading up to that, he produced and co-hosted a sports podcast. He enjoys following Bradley University athletics closely, especially the basketball team. Gavin also enjoys working at his seasonal job, Eastside Centre, as a member of the grounds crew. Matt Harrington is a senior Sports Communication major at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Harrington graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in 2018, where he began his broadcasting career in girls hockey. Harrington has served as the Director of Broadcasting for the Bradley University Hockey Club since 2019, and also once held the same position with the Peoria Mustangs, a tier 3 junior hockey team. He is a member of Bradley’s Braves Vision, serving a variety of broadcast positions for Bradley sporting events. During winter break, Harrington is heavily involved with MNHockeyTV, a live streaming service that covers high school hockey throughout the state of Minnesota. In his free time, Harrington enjoys gaming, trivia, bowling and more.
