DEADLOCK IN THE MID-ILLINI
Following Washington's 24-14 win over arch-rival Metamora and Morton's 54-6 win over Limestone in Week 8, the Panthers and Potters are deadlocked at 4-1 in the Mid-Illini standings entering Week 9. With both teams headed for the postseason, their Week 9 contests could determine a conference champ.
RIVALRY WEEK IN THE BIG 12
The Big Twelve Conference schedule saved some of the best matchups for last. This Thursday, Peoria Notre Dame and Peoria High will clash with River City bragging rights at stake, while Normal West will attempt to spoil Community's perfect season on Friday.
Entering the final week of the regular season, many local teams have their playoff fate sealed, but a few programs are still searching for key wins. Both Metamora, Dunlap and Eureka are sitting at 5 wins, needing 6 to clinch a playoff berth. The playoff bracket will be revealed Saturday at 8pm.
