Central Illinois baseball power rankings, May 16, 2024: Twin Cities, twin No. 1’s

For half of the teams in the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area, it’s win-or-go home time in the postseason. For the other half, that time is drawing closer with the end of the regular season for Class 3A and Class 4A teams on Saturday.


Two schools from Normal took the top spots in the latest CSM Central Illinois baseball power rankings, with the Mid-Illini and Inter-County conferences fielding multiple teams in them. 


At the Class 1A and Class 2A level, four teams (Illini Bluffs, Canton, Normal U-High, IVC) have clinched regional title berths as of Thursday morning with a handful of other teams hoping to join them. In the large schools, Normal Community finished off a historic Big 12 season while the Mid-Illini champion(s) are still yet to be decided.
