NORMAL — Week 9 saw the classic cliche of unstoppable force versus immovable object, but someone had to win in perhaps the most anticipated edition of the Chili Bowl of all time — the first such where both Normal Community and Normal West entered the game 8-0.

The game featured two of the best quarterbacks Central Illinois had to offer in Community’s Lucas Beaty and Normal West’s Chase Sennett.

It’s no surprise that the winning signal caller would have a big role in their team’s win, but Beaty did so primarily on the ground by running for 227 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Ironmen to a 42-15 win.

With the win, Normal Community won its third outright Big 12 Conference title in the last four seasons.
