Heinz retiring as IVC football coach after 21 years: ‘You just know when you’re ready’

CHILLICOTHE — Tim Heinz has experienced it all in his football journey that started in 1986.
And after nearly four decades of being involved in the sport, the IVC head coach is retiring after spending the last 22 years as the leader of the Grey Ghosts and becoming the program's all-time wins leader.
“I liked being around the kids, I liked working with them, I liked everything that [coaching] entails and I did my time for 31 years,” Heinz said. “After a while, it's just like any other thing, you just kind of need a break.”
