IHSA approves details for shot clock usage set to begin in 2026

The transition period is ending for shot clocks in IHSA high school basketball and final details are being put in place as Illinois is set to join 29 states that employ a shot clock in high school hoops.
After the IHSA Board of Directors voted in 2024 to implement the shot clock, schools that do not have one beginning in the 2026-27 season will have to either sacrifice home games or a forfeit on the schedule.
