Nathan Schroeder couldn’t have asked for a better result in his first tournament as a head coach.


At Peoria Notre Dame’s Mickey Schallau Invite at Kellogg Golf Course on Monday, his Morton golfers stood above a crowded field of 17 teams, including some of the best in the area. The Potters beat out Normal U-High by one stroke, 303-304, for the trophy.


“The main thing I told him before we went out there was ‘Guys, I don't really care how you shoot, I just want to drive around and see positive body language,” Schroeder said.
