Panthers, Irish lead Central Illinois contingent in first AP girls basketball statewide rankings

The first AP statewide rankings of the girls basketball season were released on Wednesday with six area teams garnering attention.

An undefeated start has Washington in a share of the top spot in Class 3A while Peoria Notre Dame also ranks highly in Class 2A. With the first rankings of the season established, other Central Illinois teams will work to find spots in the rankings in the coming weeks.
