Dee-Mack and Normal U-High are Sweet 16-bound after winning their sectional semifinal games in competitive battles on Wednesday while a historic season came to an end for East Peoria.
The Chiefs hung on in a nail-biting finish to beat Brimfield while Normal U-High got revenge on Springfield and both teams will play conference foes in their sectional titles. East Peoria’s third quarter lead was extinguished by top-ranked Kankakee.
