Four Central Illinois boys basketball teams entered Monday with dreams of winning one more game to make it to state but only one saw them through as Manual clinched its second consecutive Class 2A state berth.
The Rams induced the running clock against Johnsburg but the other three super-sectionals were decided by a combined seven points. Richwoods, Morton and Tremont all had chances to either tie or force overtime in the final seconds but were unable to convert.
The 2026 softball season began with Limestone earning a big win.
