Thursday was a day of rest and preparation for many of the teams and athletes still competing in the postseason, but a handful of teams were in action including Dunlap boys tennis, who ended the first of three days at state in a tie for first.

Tennis players from Morton and Metamora stayed alive past the first day as well. A pair of Twin Cities baseball teams took the field in regional semifinal games and the prelim competitions at state in Class 1A boys track and field were kind, especially to Bloomington Central Catholic.
