The Roundup, Oct. 19, 2026: Normal U-High volleyball ends regular season strong, Illini Bluffs, Cornerstone soccer advance
Normal U-High volleyball’s record may not match what it was when it made a run to winning the Class 3A state championship last season, but the Pioneers have momentum heading into the playoffs.
The Pioneers defeated state power Chatham Glenwood in three sets last week and took down Metamora in similar fashion in their regular season finale on Monday. Midland, East Peoria, IVC and Midwest Central were other area winners in volleyball.
Class 1A playoff soccer saw several teams in action as Illini Bluffs and Bloomington Cornerstone advanced to regional championship games.
