The Roundup, Sept. 8, 2026: IVC, Metamora, Pekin among eight schools to win in multiple sports on jam-packed Tuesday
Following last week’s heat wave, Tuesday marked one of the first big days of the fall sports season with plenty of action across multiple sports.
IVC, Metamora, Pekin, Tri-Valley, Normal U-High, Dunlap, Illini Bluffs and Normal West all won in multiple sports. Limestone, Metamora and East Peoria won their Mid-Illini openers in volleyball while Bloomington, Normal U-High and Pekin all won closely contested conference games in soccer.
Tri-Valley, Eureka and Pekin had strong performances on the golf course while Olympia cross country, Dunlap girls tennis and Normal West girls swimming all received full team efforts en route to victory.
