2024 Boys Basketball Preview: Washington vies for top of Mid-Illini equipped with multiple scorers

While the Washington Panthers were below .500 a season ago, it was notably against one of the toughest schedules in the area, and the Panthers went 7-5 in Mid-Illini play. Head coach Eric Schermerhorn has “dialed that back up again tenfold,” and the Panthers will look to use that invaluable experience in the regular season to fuel their championship ambitions.


With a number of guards capable of putting up big numbers, scoring shouldn’t be a problem for this team. The Panthers may be an undersized team, but Schermerhorn believes that’s no reason why they can’t defend and rebound at a high level.
