EUREKA — The Eureka Hornets football team is looking to make it back to the playoffs this season for the ninth consecutive year, one of the longest streaks of its kind in Central Illinois.
Hornets head coach Jason Bachman credits this success to a “dedicated” coaching staff and the kids who have participated in the program over the years.
“I’m blessed as the head coach to have people that have bought into our culture, bought into our system, [who] focus on the little things to let the big picture stuff take care of itself,” Bachman said.
However, Bachman and the Hornets aren’t fixated on that magical “9” number at this point in the season. The 75 wins that he’s led the team to —the most for a head coach in Eureka football history— have all been a byproduct of attention to detail and continual improvement.
