2025 Football Preview: Richwoods tries to find footing in Ulrich’s fifth season

PEORIA – Since their last playoff game in 2017, the Knights of Richwoods High School have not finished with a winning season. 2024 was unfortunately the same story as the team went 2-7.
Turnovers over the course of the season hurt the Knights, but the team has worked hard on fixing those mistakes and is ready to change their trajectory this season.
And while the scoreboard don’t always show it, fifth-year head coach Jim Ulrich believes the program is inching toward being competitive again in the Big 12.
“It’s no fun going out there and getting punched in the mouth, but we’re becoming more competitive and doing a lot of the little things that you need to do to have a little bit of success,” Ulrich said.
