2025 Football Preview: Princeville carries experience, all-conference honorees all across the field

PRINCEVILLE — Football means a little more in Princeville, Illinois.
The Princes boast over 20 playoff appearances, go to battle for their town of just under 2,000 without needing to co-op and becoming a high school freshman serves as a rite of passage for some.
It means they can suit up in the maroon and white each Friday night during the fall.
“It’s a pretty tight-knit community and the kids are coming out,” Princeville head coach Jon Carruthers said. “We don’t have JFL here so they don’t get burned out. It's kind of a special thing when they're able to finally get helmet shoulder pads and play football.”
