2026 Football Preview: Dunlap practicing patience, looking to peak at season’s end again

DUNLAP — A taste of November felt good for the Dunlap football team in 2025.

After a string of first-round playoff exits, the Eagles put it all together and played their best football late in the season to reach the Class 6A quarterfinals. 

No two seasons are ever the same, but there are several similarities with recent Dunlap teams and this year’s. 

There’s multiple talented quarterbacks that the Eagles feel confident in, there’s another Sutter on the roster and head coach Brett Cazalet expects his team to grow significantly throughout the course of the year.

“We felt like we were a lot better at the end of the season than we were at the beginning of the season,” Cazalet said. “I think evolution throughout the season is going to be important for us.”
