2026 Football Preview: Eureka eager to bounce back

EUREKA — The Eureka football team is going into the 2026 season with a chip on its shoulder.

But head coach Jason Bachman isn’t worried that the Hornets’ 2025 campaign — a 3-6 record that kept the team out of the postseason for the first time since 2015 — will become a trend. 

“We had some rebuilding to do and some refocusing to do,” Bachman said. “So as a staff, we did that, and I think our kids kind of put a chip on their shoulder a little bit and worked really hard in the off season.

“We have high expectations. We feel like we can compete with any team on a good day, and we've got to bring our best every week.”
