2026 Football Preview: Athleticism, talent gives Morton high hopes for playoff encore

MORTON — It’s little secret that Morton High School has some of the best athletes in the Central Illinois area.
It’s 2026 football team is no different.
“Athletic,” Morton senior Isaac Davis said when asked how to describe the Potters. “Because with our skill positions, we got our receivers, our athletic running backs, we got H-backs who can catch the ball. We got everyone who can make plays on defense.”
Fourth-year head coach Adam O’Neill agrees.
His team has alternated between making the playoffs and falling one game short of them for five straight seasons but is confident that a vast arsenal of talent can break that trend.
