2026 Volleyball Preview: Morton determined to make run behind multiple stars

MORTON — Morton volleyball feels like it has business to take care of after a talented Potters squad fell just short to eventual state champion Normal U-High in the Class 3A sectional finals.
Head coach Jordan Williams’ team still has members that know what it feels like to reach the IHSA State Finals. Claire Ceresa, Abby VanMeenen, Rebekah Stock and Leigha Kempf were all freshmen on Morton’s fourth-place team in 2023 and hope to lead Morton back to CEFCU Arena in their final prep campaign.
There’s plenty of reason to believe the Potters can do so as eight players that started at least one match last year are returning, including all-conference selections VanMeenen, Stock, Isabelle Mueller and Penelope Drake. Morton also has a wealth of up-and-coming contributors that have played in high-level games at the junior high level.
The Potters are looking to get out and running in 2026 with a group that’s well-connected and determined to bring home a hard-earned conference championship and more.
