2026 Soccer Preview: East Peoria looking to stay competitive in Frietsch’s first season

EAST PEORIA — Casey Frietsch has known the soccer scene in East Peoria all his life, but he's never seen it from this vantage point before.
Frietsch, a former student at East Peoria who played three years at the varsity level with the Raiders before going on to spend four years at Eureka College, held the position of assistant coach last season. Now, he’s become head coach of a Raiders program that has taken incremental steps forward over the past few seasons.
Frietsch and his squad know they are capable of competing with multiple teams and look to develop a pass-first mentality this season.
