2026 Soccer Preview: New-look Chargers ready to compete

PEORIA — Cory Hynek has won plenty of games during his time as head coach of the Peoria Christian boys soccer team.
Nearly 300 of them. He enters the 2026 campaign ranked No. 34 on the IHSA’s all-time wins list thanks to 296 victories at Peoria Christian since 2007 and 23 triumphs at Washington from 2005-06.
He’ll lean on seniors Wrigley Kellerstrass and Nico Edwards this fall as the Chargers seek their sixth consecutive Class 1A regional title.
