Central Illinois girls wrestlers to watch as postseason set to kick off

The road to Bloomington for the IHSA State Finals is shorter for Central Illinois girls wrestlers in a literal sense, but that doesn’t mean getting there will be easy. 


However, several grapplers from the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area look to make their mark in a changing-of-the-guard year. Just three of the nine state qualifiers from the area in 2025 did not graduate but many underclassmen and breakout candidates could take their spots. 


As regionals kick off on Feb. 6, below is a look at one standout Central Illinois girls wrestler, plus several others to watch, from each weight class that could find themselves reaching the IHSA State Finals, which will be held Feb. 27-28 at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.
