CSM Baseball Power Rankings, May 5, 2025: Washington, IVC, Normal West gaining steam

There are several elements that decide the outcome in sports, but each sport has one that’s slightly more important than the rest. 


Golf comes down to putting, basketball and football often come down to turnovers and baseball comes down to pitching. Sparkling outings were numerous in the Central Illinois high school baseball scene recently, with many of them coming from the top teams in the latest Clutch Sports Media baseball power rankings.


Washington, Morton, Normal West, Normal U-High and Tremont are just a sample size of teams that used consistently strong outings across multiple games to pick up momentum last week. All five of those teams earned a top five spot, the large school and small school No. 1 squads stayed put and three teams went from unranked to ranked.
