If you followed Central Illinois girls basketball last year, you’ll be plenty familiar with who the top players in the area are this season.
What was Central Illinois’ influx of young talent will mature even more and elevate girls basketball in the area to lofty heights, leading to plenty of teams that are worth paying attention to in the coming months.
Dalia DeJesus is back. Lexi Baer is back. So is Avery Tibbs (and all the rest of Washington’s starters) Ivy and Mya Edwards, Londyn Sommerville, Keyaira Haywood, Paige Selke, Chloe and Emerson Eeten, Addy Freihaut, Bri Harms and many more.
Some are playing for new teams, in the case of Keniya Todd (Dunlap to Richwoods) and Karissa Cook (Bloomington Central Catholic to Heyworth), and both have led their teams to hot starts this winter.
