Central Illinois football teams are making a statement in the AP statewide rankings with 15 area teams either ranked or receiving votes heading into Week 3.

Seven of those squads either moved up from their previous ranking or received votes after not doing so last week. Headlining that group are Morton, who jumped into the Class 5A top 10, along with Dunlap and Bloomington, both of whom were not ranked prior to Week 2 but are in their respective class’ top 10 this week.

Tri-Valley (Class 2A No. 2) and Peoria High (Class 5A No. 3) were the top-ranked teams from Central Illinois.
