Farmington, Bloomington lead 13 area teams in AP statewide rankings heading into Week 6

After a one-week hiatus, new AP statewide rankings were released on Wednesday with just over a dozen teams in Central Illinois either ranked or receiving votes.
Each area team in the rankings slotted into a different spot from where it was last time, with Bloomington and El Paso-Gridley rising the most spots and Morton, Peoria High and Normal Community falling.
Three area teams garnered attention in Class 2A, Class 5A and Class 6A with four teams each from the Mid-Illini and Big 12 either being ranked or receiving votes.
