From injured to Iowa-bound: Washington’s Dawson shows fight in return to volleyball court

WASHINGTON, IL — It’s hard for Washington’s Carly Dawson to stay off a volleyball court.
She plays volleyball nearly year-round, whether it’s for the Washington Panthers or for her club team, Illini Elite. As a sophomore, she also had ambitions of eventually playing college volleyball.
After repeated attempts to play through a foot injury, Dawson had to miss a chunk of her sophomore season. But now, the Panthers’ star outside hitter is back on the court and has her future lined up with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
