TREMONT — The Tremont Turks baseball team says they feel like professionals right now.
School is out for the summer, but the Turks are still playing deep into the Class 1A postseason so their schedule is baseball, baseball and more baseball. They wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It’s like this is our job right now,” Tremont senior Andrew Dawson said. “We all eat a good breakfast, lift, work out, get extra hitting in before practice and then after practice, we'll hang out, do recovery and all kinds of things.”
“It's been awesome, we're all having fun with each other,” Tremont senior Griffin Meeker added. “We get swings in every day, get extra work in on our own and we're just out there making memories that'll last a lifetime.”
Tremont is playing seemingly at a professional level too. Hitting, pitching and fielding, they have it all and it’s been a recipe for advancing to the Class 1A sectional title game and having the winningest season in school history.
