Gavel and gridiron: Stovall blends being standout for Normal West football and mock trial
NORMAL — The jury isn’t exactly out on the Normal West football team.
The Wildcats are known as one of the most consistent high-level teams in the Central Illinois area with 15 straight playoff appearances. The court of high school media members around the state has also deemed them the No. 4 team in Class 6A, according to the latest Illinois media state football poll.
But what does being in a courtroom have to do with high school football? Plenty actually, according to Normal West senior offensive lineman and team captain Jordan Stovall.
Stovall is a multi-year starter, first team all-Big 12 Conference honoree and anchor of Normal West’s offensive line but he’s also a standout on Normal West’s mock trial team, which is a defending state champion in Illinois.
