DOWNS - The underdogs were hungry on Wednesday night, but Peoria Manual and Bloomington Central Catholic persevered. The two are set to compete in the Class 2A Tri-Valley 2A Regional championship on Friday in what is expected to be a rowdy environment.
Manual traveled down Interstate 74 to take on Tri-Valley on their home court and controlled the majority of the game, but never ran away with it.
The host Vikings battled their hearts out against the No. 1 seed and eventually took a 38-37 lead with less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Up until that point, they had only led for less than a minute.
Manual is a deep team with a lineup full of stars, but who was going to step up? Insert senior guard Reggie Postlewaite.
