Manual occupies Class 2A throne, five other area teams recognized in first AP boys hoops statewide rankings

Six Central Illinois boys basketball teams got off to hot starts and earned a spot in the first AP statewide rankings for boys basketball this season.

Manual, who many view as a state favorite, enters as the No. 1 team in Class 2A while four area teams received recognition in Class 3A and Peoria Christian is on the Class 1A radar.
