The Class 3A Washington Sectional in softball sectional shows a major Mid-Illini contingent, with three of the four schools in the sectional represented from the conference.

Metamora and Washington will battle in the first sectional semifinal at 4:30 p.m. with East Peoria taking on Pontiac in the semifinal to follow at 6:30 p.m. Both games will be played at Jan Smith Field in Washington.

The Mid-Illini was highly competitive this season, with Dunlap, Metamora and East Peoria all sharing the conference title with identical 12-2 conference records. Of the team’s competing in the Washington Sectional, Metamora earned the No. 2 spot in the latest Illinois Coaches Association Class 3A poll, with East Peoria coming in at No. 9 and Pontiac at No. 12. While not ranked, Washington has played some of its best softball as of late, winning eight of its last 10.
