As the Fourth of July nears, it’s a time to celebrate all of the things that make America what it is and there’s few things that are as purely American as high school football.
The first games of the IHSA football season are less than two months away as many teams are currently in the midst of training and 7-on-7 camps throughout the state. When helmets get put on, it’s a sign that the season is even closer.
Some high school football teams in Central Illinois will don their traditional lids yet again, including unmistakable looks such as Washington’s cursive orange ‘W’ or Bloomington Central Catholic’s traditional all-gold domes. Others have recently changed their design or plan to debut new helmets in the 2023-24 season.
