A stormy Friday couldn’t stop some Central Illinois high school athletic events, including Big 12 baseball and softball games where Normal Community, Normal West and Peoria Notre Dame won in both sports.
East Peoria, Tri-Valley, Richwoods and Delavan were several area winners in baseball, as well as Illini Bluffs, Metamora and Olympia in softball. A pair of Mid-Illini girls soccer teams won and the day in track and field was highlighted by the competitive Bloomington Lady Raider Invitational.
