Three of some of the area’s best prep golfers were in top shape on Wednesday and led their teams to wins in key early-season tournaments.
Normal U-High’s Dawson Freeman headlined a leaderboard that featured plenty of names under par as he shot 65 to lead the Pioneers to a win at Bloomington’s Mia Memorial Classic. Washington and Richwoods were also among the area’s top finishers IVC and Midland also won matches on the boys side as well.
Dunlap’s Sydney Hunt led a runaway win for the Eagles in a big tournament at Metamora and Tri-Valley’s Elle Filarski led the Vikings to a win in a Heart of Illinois Conference match.
