The Roundup, Aug. 20, 2025: Washington, Dunlap win big tournaments in golf, Tri-Valley girls prevail again

While its still the first full week of the IHSA fall season, several of the area’s top tournaments were played on Wednesday.
Washington’s boys shot a sub-300 score to win a competitive Mia Gordon Memorial Classic at The Den at Fox Creek while Dunlap girls golf defended its title at the Metamora Redbird Classic. Brimfield’s boys plus Elmwood and Tri-Valley’s girls took the cake in smaller meets.
Area medalists on Wednesday included Washington’s Gavin Schreurs, Dunlap’s Sydney Hunt, Illini Bluffs’ Crew Fortin, Tri-Valley’s Elle Filarski, Brimfield’s Dane Fagerburg and Canton’s Elizabeth Knowles.
