There was plenty to talk about from Tuesday’s basketball games in the area, with multiple close wins, significant milestones and some games that were not as close as some would have expected.

Normal Community handed Peoria High a loss in Big 12 boys action while Washington’s top-ranked girls team escaped a loss to Dunlap with a big fourth quarter. Both schools, along with Morton, Metamora, Pekin and Tremont won in both boys and girls play.

Peoria Christian’s Malachi Persinger, Illini Bluffs’ Toby Cooper, Peoria High’s Leshawn Stowers and Olympia Owen Alford all had memorable nights by reaching 1,000 – and in Persinger’s case, 2,000 – career points.

Check out all the scores, recaps and top performers from the day in Tuesday’s edition of The Roundup!
