Normal Community 2, Bradley-Bourbonnais 0: Behind a complete game, 1-hit shutout from Gavin Swartz, Normal Community (34-4, 17-1 Big 12) won its 20th straight game and advanced to the Class 4A Illinois Wesleyan Sectional title game on Saturday. Swartz struck out six batters and walked none in the shining performance. The Ironmen mustered just three hits in the pitcher’s duel, but got an RBI single from Kyle Beaty in the first inning and scored on a grounder from Brady Burkhart that induced a Boilermakers error in the fifth inning. Gavin Michaels had two hits for the Ironmen as their 34th win of the season marked a new program record ahead of their sectional title game against O’Fallon.
