The Roundup, March 18, 2026: IVC, U-High baseball win shutouts, trio of soccer teams win, girls track congregates in Normal

The first full slate of the spring sports season provided several tight, low-scoring baseball games, several softball and girls soccer teams winning plus indoor track and field and girls lacrosse in Central Illinois.
Bloomington Central Catholic, IVC and Heyworth all prevailed in close battles on the baseball diamond while Normal U-High and Midland breezed to big wins. PND squeezed out a win in softball while Dunlap and Morton headlined girls soccer winners.
Normal U-High, Eureka and Farmington had strong days at indoor track meets, including the highly-attended Normal West Indoor Invite and a pair of area girls lacrosse teams battled it out in their season opener.
