The Roundup, Oct. 1, 2026: Washington volleyball beats Limestone, PND’s Gardiner sets record plus flag football playoffs
The Mid-Illini volleyball race got a bit crazier on Thursday as Washington defeated Limestone in three sets, giving the Rockets their first conference loss of the year. Normal West, Normal Community and IVC were some of the other volleyball winners and stayed unbeaten in conference play.
Non-conference soccer matchups featured big nights from Pekin’s Chase Foust, Illini Bluffs’ Will Emhoff and Dunlap’s Jackson Orris. Multiple flag football teams began their playoff journeys and Peoria Notre Dame’s Kam Gardiner set a record in the pool in a swim meet against Richwoods.
