The Roundup, Oct. 21, 2025: Metamora advances to regional title after PKs, Normal Community volleyball clinches Big 12 title

The stakes were high on Tuesday in Central Illinois is postseason soccer rolled on with several close games and conference seasons began to wrap up in volleyball. 


Eight area soccer teams won regional semifinal games, including Metamora who defeated Normal U-High in a dandy of a ballgame that went to penalty kicks. Normal West’s John Jasker set a record and Morton, Richwoods and Peoria Notre Dame all won close games. 


More than a handful of matches from the Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament led the way in volleyball. Normal Community locked up the Big 12 title, Midland set a new program record and Morton won a key conference battle.
