Central Illinois football and soccer teams impressed on Friday night with four football teams securing playoff victories while two soccer teams won sectional titles.

The Mid-Illini went 3-1 in football with Metamora dealing two late daggers to Breese Central for a wild come-from-behind win. Pekin and Morton both rolled to running clock victories as well. El Paso-Gridly also induced the running clock in its Class 2A first round win.

Washington fell in football, but prevailed in penalty kicks to win a Class 2A sectional title on its home turf and Peoria Notre Dame also moved one win away from state with a sectional title victory as well.
