The Roundup, Oct. 7, 2026: Emhoff makes history, Princeville, Midland win in volleyball, flag football seasons come to end
Despite a light schedule, there were plenty of stakes and highlights on Wednesday in Central Illinois high school sports.
Illini Bluffs soccer star Will Emhoff set a new program record for goals and became closer to breaking the single-season record as well as his Tigers stayed undefeated.
Princeville and Midland volleyball had two similar outcomes, with vastly different routes as Princeville dominated and Midland fought hard in a tight matchup. Richwoods and Normal Community’s flag football seasons were cut short in regional title games and cross country saw Lowpoint-Washburn/Roanoke-Benson bring home a lot of gold at its home invite.
