Tuesday’s high school sports action had something for everybody with a long list of volleyball, boys soccer, golf and cross country teams in action.

Metamora took down Normal West in a key Mid-Illini/Big 12 volleyball contest and Dunlap, Eureka, Illini Bluffs and several others continued hot starts. Washington won the first official varsity game in the newly renovated Torry Gym.

Mid-Illini soccer games kicked off with four squads winning via shutouts. Peoria Christian and Illini Bluffs soccer also kept up their respective unbeaten records.

On the golf course, Mid-Illini teams squared off with Morton being a winner on both boys’ and girls’ sides and Brimfield was among a handful of other teams that won. Peoria Notre Dame and several other area cross country powers met at the Irish’s Early Bird Invite and Washington swim and dive chalked up a win.
